Huntington Event Highlights Week of September 2

I am trying something new starting this week on my blog. After looking through various websites highlighting things to do in my city I realized that there wasn't one site that had a calendar that integrated everything together. If you look on the top of the page I included a new page with a calendar that highlights events in my town of Huntington, WV and the immediate Tri-State area. Here are the highlights for this week.

Monday September 2nd, 2013

  • Camden Park/Labor Day Celebration Blues & BBQ
On the Midway Stage: Paul Birch Humming House-Black Twig Pickers. Info: www.camdenpark.com and 304-429-4321. Starting at 11 am. 
  • LaborFest
Music includes John Thornsberry, Outrider Band, Eddie and the Cougars and more. Ice cream social, door prizes and more. Info: 606-327-2046. Ashland, KY starting at 3pm. 

Tuesday September 3, 2013
  • Free Tuesday at The Museum
Huntington Museum of Art, 2033 McCoy Road, Huntington Info: www.hmoa.org

Wednesday September 4, 2013
  • Farmer's Market
Fresh produce and local crafts displayed and available from regional farmers and craftsmen. Pullman Square. Huntington, WV  Hours:  7am – 2pm

Friday September 6, 2013
  • Cinema Under the Stars
Heritage Station Patio, 210 11th Street, Huntington  8pm Tickets: $1.Free with MU student ID. Movies for the whole family. Refreshments-snacks are available. 

Saturday September 7, 2013
  • Way Back Weekend 
Heritage Farm Museum & Village, 3300 Harvey Road, Huntington. Sample some great mouth-watering food. Adult $8, Senior (65 & up) $7, Children (3-12) $6. Info: www.heritagefarmmuseum.com and 304-522-1244.

Sunday September 8, 2013
  • Family Fit Fest 
Ritter Park Huntington, WV 1:30 pm The 5th Annual Fit Fest will be held September 8th, 2013 which will include a 5K/10K walk or run, as well as kid’s races and healthy venues. For more information about Fit Fest or the Paul Ambrose Trail for Health

  1. I wish there was something like this for us here as well. I'm always looking for something for the kids. Seems like a lot of good things will be happening there in WV. Enjoy the ones you can get to. :)
