My poor youngest son has always struggled with his teeth. By the time he was 3 he had already had two dental surgeries. It came as a shock to my husband and I since my oldest has never had any cavities. They ate the same foods, never had juice and drank a ton of water. Yet my poor baby had horrible, horrible teeth. Since he was so little we had to take him to a pediatric dentist over an hour away and spend more money than I like to think about. Luckily his teeth seem to have leveled out. He hasn't had any cavities in over a year and he loves to brush and floss his teeth like his big brother. Since we have gone through so much drama with the dentist my kids know that dental hygiene takes the front seat in my household.

Every morning and evening my kids have a routine. They floss (once a day), brush and then use fluoride mouth rinse. I am pretty strict about it and they don't put up a fight. The other routine that we have is sugar free gum. The pediatric dentist actually recommended chewing it after lunch and in between brushing as a way to keep food particles off of their teeth. Now I don't buy it every week, but it's a great way to allow my kids a treat without the sugar. Recently I was given the opportunity to try new Orbit for Kids.

My kids really loved the strawberry banana flavor we sampled. The taste wasn't overly artificial and the package was bright and enticing. This is a product that would be noticed on the shelf and since I only buy sugar free gum this would be a nice way to allow my kids a non-sugar treat.
