#Sponsored Post: Cascade Platinum Pacs

Disclaimer: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Cascade. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

As most of you know I cook a lot. Normally I cook at three meals a day, plus after-school snacks and treats. All this cooking adds up to a lot of dishes and I mean a lot of dishes. Growing up we never had a dishwasher. My mother washed everything by hand and the job passed onto me when I was old enough. Since our immediate family was small it was never a big deal. However, when my mother had family events the dishes piled up quickly. My mother was the oldest of 12 brothers and sisters, so even a small family gathering meant hours and hours of dishes.

As an adult I have lived in places with and those without dishwashers. One thing that has always made me cringe is dishwashing solutions that leave streaks or spots on my dishes. Food has a lot to do with what it looks like on the plate and when your dishes look dirty the food is far less appealing. Recently I was given the opportunity by Mom Central to try Cascade Platinum Pacs for my home use.

So what are Cascade Platinum Pacs? They are convenient pacs that claim to allow you not to have to pre-wash your dishes and get off stuck on food that has been stuck for up to 24 hours. I received a sample which I used for a week.

Pros:
  • They are very easy to use. You just have to add the pac to the dishwasher, no measuring, pouring etc.
  • After using the product the dishes were free of streaks and the food came completely off.
  • No need for pre-washing dishes.
Cons:
  • Price is a little higher than non-pac varities.
Right now Cascade is teaming up with Gail Simmons to discuss why presentation is as important as preparation. To learn more about their partnership view the videos on the Cascade YouTube page http://bit.ly/124rLfa and the Cascade Facebook page: http://on.fb.me/10Y8RQQ.

In addition to the partnership Cascade is also having an instagram contest. Here are the details:

  • Visit the contest landing page (http://tinyurl.com/PlatBlog) for information on how to enter and submit images:
  • Each week, two contestants will be selected to receive a brand new Whirlpool dishwasher. Additionally, one lucky grand prize winner will receive a Platinum kitchen makeover.

  1. We use our dishwasher at least 3 times a week and where we currently live we have extremely hard water and nothing we use leaves our glasses spotless and shiny. I've tried cascade in the past with not so good results. I'm willing to give them another shot with this new product to see if it works better than our current brand. Didn't realize that they even had a new product. Thank you for sharing.

  5. We have lived without a dishwasher for over 10 years now, but I often wondered if those little packs were worth the extra cost what with such improvements to dishwashers themselves. Do you think these ultra packs are worth the even more cost? Yes...I am dreaming f one day when the kitchen is all redone and I can give them a try myself!! Thanks for the info and for stopping by City Chick :0).

  6. I love these! Got a free sample and ever never looked back. My neighbour had to borrow one the other night and now she is hooked! I don't mind paying a bit more for a product that I know gives good results, and saves me time!

  7. I like those little packs because they clean the dishwasher too, but I also like that they're pretty. Isn't that silly/funny? It's true though. :)

  8. Would you believe we have been living in our NYC apartment for 15 years and only used the dishwasher once? LOL! I am the dishwasher in our place! I wonder if it would still work.

    1. I have had dishwashers on and off. I had a bad habit when I was younger of breaking my dishwasher every couple of months :)

  9. These sound great! I've always been a big fan of the detergent pacs. It's so easy to just throw them in, and I personally feel they give a better clean.
